The 141st Air Refueling Wing is comprised of over 1,000 citizen airmen and is located at Fairchild Air Force Base near Spokane. Subordinate units within the 141st include: 560th Air National Guard Band, the 242 and 256 Combat Communication Squadrons.
The 141st ARW is one of the oldest Air National Guard flying units in the nation and the only one in Washington State. Dating back to 1924, the wing has a rich heritage of military aviation. Members of the 141st ARW have served in locations around the globe, in addition to safeguarding lives and property during state missions. Most recently, over 100 citizen airmen from the 141st ARW served in support of the eastern Washington snow removal mission in January 2009.
